We woke up early and were delighted that we could just see the Himalayas where there had been cloud cover the night before.

Today we would hike to Ghorepani, which sits around 9,500 feet high. Because of the elevation gain, some would consider this the hardest day of the trek.

We had a good breakfast, packed up and started on with the day.

The first three hours were pretty steady and difficult, but the kids were doing great. We saw the sights and met some animals along the way.

At lunch we had daal bhat and Lucy negotiated for a purple bracelet.

After lunch we continued on. We learned about “mad honey” and in villages we saw they used eggs to decorate. These eggs had nothing to do with Easter.

After what felt a million stair steps up, but according to my Fitbit only 20,000, we arrived in Ghorepani.

We stayed at the Excellent View Guesthouse, where Lucy made friends with the owner’s daughter.

It's significantly colder here and the rooms don't have heat. We gather around the wood fireplace in the dining area and play "Go Fish" while we wait for dinner and discuss the sunrise hike to Poon Hill for the next morning.

We are still feeling good at the end of Day 2.

These updates are so cool! The video of the cows or big animals was crazy! Lucy looked done in some of these pictures!
